Announcing the Eighth Book of my Reading Challenge 2019!

I actually won this book in a giveaway by Caitlin @ Read and Drink Tea (still super thankful!) I’m going to include some photos of how she sent it to me (because it was beyond lovely) and the signature (yes it’s signed!)

How beautiful is that?! Thank you so much again to Caitlin!💛

So as you’ve probably grasped by now my book this week is ‘The Other Side Of Lost’ by Jessi Kirby.

Let’s get into it!

First Impression

First of all, how beautiful is this cover? It’s so simple yet so effective. Along with the title, it has me had over heels so far!

“Mari Turner’s life is perfect. That is, at least, to her thousands of followers who have helped her become an internet starlet.

But when she breaks down and posts a video confessing she’s been living a lie—that she isn’t the happy, in love, inspirational online personality she’s been trying so hard to portray—it goes viral and she receives a major backlash.

To get away from it all, she makes an impulsive decision: to hike the entire John Muir Trail. Mari and her late cousin Bri were supposed to do it together, to celebrate their shared eighteenth birthday. But that was before Mari got so wrapped up in her online world that she shut anyone out who questioned its worth—like Bri.

With Bri’s boots and trail diary, a heart full of regret, and a group of strangers that she meets along the way, Mari tries to navigate the difficult terrain of the hike. But the true challenge lies within, as she searches for the way back from to the girl she fears may be too lost to find: herself.”

I like the whole theme of seeing the reality behind Instagram stars and such and that what you see is not always the whole story. It sounds like your typical ‘coming-of-age’ and ‘finding yourself’ novel which I’m not mad about. I love these tropes just as much as the next person, they just need to be done right!

Overall, I’m optimistic about this book. I don’t feel like I will love, love it but I’m hoping I’ll like it. Maybe it can help me find myself too! Please, I need that.

Thank you for reading! Have you read this book? What did you think, let me know!

love, bella x
