The Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag!

Hello all! Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend, are you doing anything special?

I was tagged in ‘The Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag’ by Cassie @ Let’s Get Galactic. I highly recommend going to check her blog out! It’s a beautiful wormhole of rainbows and I live for it!

I wanted to do this tag because I love doing tags that gives me the opportunity to tell you guys a little but more about myself! So, without further ado, let’s get into it!

1. How long have you been blogging?

Technically I posted my first blog post (aptly named ‘My first blog post – Depression) on the April 7th 2017. It was basically just a post explaining my journey so far with my depression and it was just somewhere I could post it. I didn’t start using this space for a book blog until April 13th 2019 (there must be something about April that makes me want to share my thoughts?) So, as a book blogger, I’ve actually only been blogging for two months! Which is crazy because I feel like I’ve made so many blogging friends and acquaintances already, which I’m incredibly grateful for!

2. At what point do you think you’ll stop blogging?

I’m not really sure! At the minute, I’m just getting started so I’m not ready to think about when I should stop. At some point I’m hoping to start a Youtube channel and slowly dial this back while I do it on youtube instead, however I’m not sure when, if ever, I’m going to do that! So for now, I’m pretty comfortable not knowing and just going with the flow.

3. What’s the best thing about blogging?

The community. Without a shadow of a doubt. Everyone is so supportive and friendly. I came here to share my thoughts about books that I loved, I stayed because of how welcoming and beautiful the community is.

4. What’s the worst thing about blogging?

This is hard but I think it’s the people that might affect the above. Similar to Cassie’s answer, any people who try to spread negativity for no reason. The type of people who get pissed if you didn’t like a book that they loved. Everyone has different opinions about books and that’s what makes the premise of sharing them so fun and enjoyable!

5. How long does it take you to make/find pictures to use?

Not long. I usually take the pictures in advance to use for my upcoming posts then I edit them on the day of posting to add a title and such, usually takes me about 10 mins top.

6. Who is your book crush?

Oooooh. Hard one. I’m going to go with Kady Harker from my most recent read ‘This Savage Song’ by V.E Schwab. She is just bloody bad-ass and I would gladly run away with her and fight monsters, just saying.

7. What author would you like to have on your blog?

Uhm I have no idea. I don’t think my blog deserves any author on it to be honest! In my wildest dreams I suppose it would be Patrick Ness because I would love to pick his crazy creative brain.

8. What do you wear when you write your blog posts?

Erm, this question makes me laugh. I don’t, sadly have a special blogging uniform, though I wouldn’t say no to one! I wear whatever I am wearing at that time I suppose! Right now, I’m wearing a vintage Disneyland t-shirt and some very worn in pyjama bottoms with stars on!

9. How long does it take you to prepare?

For an alien invasion? 6 months. For date night? Couple hours. For a blog post? around an hour. Ahahah, it depends what kind of post. If it’s a review usually it will take 30 mins to an hour, tags tend to take a little longer, with the longest being discussion posts and wrap up’s!

10. How do you feel about the blogging community?

Love it. See question 3.

11. What do you think one should do to create a successful blog?

Do all the usual stuff, blog hop, post interesting content and interact with other bloggers, make friends! Above all this though, just do you. Be true to yourself, don’t be afraid to say you hated a book everyone loved or vice versa. Most of the time I follow blogs because of personality and creativity, your personality sets you apart, so use it!

Phew! That was a fun one! Thank you to Cassie for tagging me!💞

I tag:

Meghan // Alex // Brittany

Don’t worry about doing it if you don’t want to! On the other hand, if I haven’t tagged you but you want to do it, then please feel free!💛

Till next time!

love, bella x

I’m so glad you stayed and felt welcomed by the community. Everyone (for the most part) is so kind and supportive! I’m glad you’re a part of this community♥♥

  2. Thank you for the tag, hun ❤ I actually did this tag during my very first blogging year (was it 2016? :O I'm not sure…) But I'd love to see if my answers changed. Will be very interesting to compare. And I'm 100% agree that the bookish community is THE BEST. Everyone is so nice and supportive (even when we talk about unpopular opinions, everyone seemed to agree or at least nicely disagree 😀 ).

    1. You’re very welcome🥰 and isn’t it just the best?! I love that it’s a space where it’s cool to talk about things you might not agree on because that’s half of the fun, especially when discussing books!
